Article 33 of the Law on the Directorate for Coordination of BiH Police Bodies and on Support
Agencies to the BiH Police Structures set forth that the BiH Ministry of Security was
responsible for harmonizing all relevant laws. On 27 April 2009, the Parliament adopted the
Amendments to the Law on Police Officials of BiH, Official Gazette 27/04, 03/04, 05/06,
333/06, 15/08, 63/08, 35/09, the Law on the BiH Border Police, Official Gazette 59/08, 35/09,
the Law on the Sate Investigation and Protection Agency, Official Gazette 27/04, 63/04, 35/05,
49/04. The adoption of these laws and the appointment of the Independent Board will complete
the first phase of the police reform in BiH.
