CANADA
-Canada has enjoyed the last few days of discussions, and particularly the presence of nonECOSOC accredited NGOs, which has allowed us to hear a wider variety of perspectives.
-In September and this week, we’ve heard clearly the message that capacity building is essential
to implementing the recommendations of previous GGE reports, and of an eventual OEWG
report.
-Canada has spent over $10 million in cyber capacity building since 2015. These projects have
helped countries in the Americas to stand up CSIRTs, and develop national cyber security
strategies.
-Canada would like to better integrate gender considerations into our capacity building projects
moving forward. We would welcome data, case studies or information that stakeholders may be
able to provide to assist us in this regard.
