- Description
- The Mauritian Cybercrime Online Reporting System (MAUCORS) is one of the key initiatives of the National Cybercrime Strategy (2017-19) that sets out the Government’s approach to combat cybercrime in Mauritius. It is a platform administered by the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), and is designed to make cybercrime reporting easier and convenient.
- It is a centralized system that connects the computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), the Cybercrime Unit (Mauritius Police Force), the Data Protection Office and the Information Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA). The system allows citizens to report incidents on one platform that can reach out the respective institutions.
- It also caters for providing information on the different types of cybercrime (such as hacking, online scams, online fraud, identity theft and attacks on computer and network systems) and how to recognise it as well as how to prevent these threats.
