The 8th meeting of China-EU Cyber Taskforce was held on November 25th via video
link. Mr. Wang Lei, Coordinator for Cyber Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China,
and Ms. Manon Le Blanc, Coordinator for Cyber Affairs for the European External Action
Service (EEAS),co-chaired this meeting. Delegates from relevant departments of China
and the EU attended this meeting.
The two sides exchanged views on issues including the overall situation, global
governance and bilateral cooperation in digital economy and cyberspace as well as other
issues of common concern. The two sides agreed that China and the EU share common
interests in developing digital economy and maintaining a peaceful and stable
cyberspace. They agreed to uphold multilateralism and address challenges in a collective
way. Both sides highlighted that it is of great significance to maintain an open and nondiscriminatory environment for all businesses, and Internet governance should be
promoted based on principles of openness and inclusiveness. This meeting further
enhanced mutual understanding and contributed to expanding pragmatic cooperation and
moving forward China-EU relationship.
