BC, Riga, 15.04.2013.
On Friday, Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks met with Danish
Defense Minister Nick Haekkerup, during which the two sides agreed on
cooperation in cyber-defense, informs LETA.
''Cyber-attacks go beyond state borders, thus
international cooperation is important in tackling
these modern-day challenges,'' Pabriks pointed out.
The Danish defense minister informed that, similar
to Latvia, the Danish Defense Ministry has taken
over cyber-defense activities in the country.
During the meeting, the Latvian defense minister
thanked Denmark for its participation in the NATO
patrol of Baltic airspace.
At the same time, Pabriks invited his Danish counterpart to participate in the next ''Riga
Conference'', which will take place in September.
The two sides also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, Baltic-Nordic cooperation
perspective, as well as other current affairs.
