(3) Notwithstanding subsection (1), the Commission shall not conduct an inquiry unless it is satisfied that the matter is of significant interest to either the public or to current or prospective licensees under this Act. (4) An inquiry shall be carried out in accordance with Chapter 3 of this Part, and at a standard and in a manner consistent with the provisions of this Act and its subsidiary legislation and any instrument issued, made or given under this Act. (5) Within forty-five days from the conclusion of the inquiry, the Commission shall determine the matter. (6) Any determination by the Commission shall be consistent with the objects of, and any requirements provided in, this Act which are relevant to the particular matter or activity. (7) A determination made by the Commission under this Chapter shall be registered as soon as practicable. (8) A determination shall come into force on the date of registration or such later date as the Commission may specify. (9) A determination shall expire on such date as the Commission may specify or, if no date is specified, the determination shall be in force until the determination is revoked. 56. Modification, variation or revocation of a determination by the Commission. (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Commission may modify, vary or revoke a determination, in response to a written request or on its own initiative. (2) The procedures set out in section 55 shall apply mutatis mutandis in respect of any modification, variation or revocation of the determination. 57. Register of determinations. The Commission shall maintain a register of all determinations made by the Commission, including any written instrument modifying, varying or revoking a determination, in accordance with Chapter 6 of this Part. Chapter 3 - Inquiry 58. Inquiry by the Commission. (1) The Commission shall, in response to a Ministerial direction, hold a public inquiry on any matter of a general nature which relates to the administration of this Act or its subsidiary legislation which will serve the objects of this Act. (2) The Commission may hold a public inquiry under subsection (1)— (a) in response to a written request from a person; or (b) on its own initiative,
