Mr. Chairman, firstly let me congratulate you for being elected to Chair this
particular OEWG
We, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have full confidence, in that there are key
measures or as said, confidence building measures, that need to be considered
for this OEWG.
Together with OEWG,we need to work collectivelyyfor the purposes of realizing
an effective protection instrument, to counter the effects of Cyber Exploitation.
The United Nations GGE Mechanism supports that International Law applies to
Digital Space in principle. In view of this, we as Nation States through Consensus
and trust driven deliberations would need to resonate with it.
All member States of the OEWG are respectfully requested to contribute their
unique experiences and mitigations, as they have invaluable and individual
experiences in engaging ICT SECURITY mechanisms, in order to frame a united
approach to purposefully safeguard Cyber-Space against malicious
exploitations.
Considering the aforementioned point, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has
developed its first ICT Digital Security framework that has provisioned for
Information- Communications-Technology-Security Infrastructure, for Current
and Emerging Technologies, to meaningfully handle ICT Cyber-Space threats
Our view is that consistent, transparent and regular communications would
need to become an operating standard, in order to plan, organise and execute
the objectives set by the OEWG, for an effective results-driven deliverables,
serving a consensus based remedial action for the common good of all Nation
States
In a Global context and as a collective, we are looking forward to explore, discuss
and document ICT Cyber Security challenges, propose principles to ensure
alignment to improve security and develop rapid response. Cyber Security
Solutions and Frameworks Should be at the Core of the Digital Transformation
and Emerging Technologies endeavours to ensure increasing Economic value,
reducing Poverty and Inequality, and empowering solutions towards Humanities
Sustainable Development.
