ACT No 181/2014 Coll. of July 23, 2014 on Cyber Security and Change of Related Acts (The Act on Cyber Security) The Parliament has adopted the following Act of the Czech Republic: PART ONE CYBER SECURITY (Sections 1–33) CHAPTER I Basic provisions (Sections 1–3a) Section 1 Subject of the Act (1) This Act regulates the rights and obligations of legal or natural persons and the competence and power of public authorities in the field of cyber security. (2) This Act incorporates the relevant legislation of the European Union6) and regulates the security of electronic communication networks and information systems. (3) This Act shall not apply to information and communication systems handling classified information. Definition of terms Section 2 For the purpose of this Act: a) Cyberspace means a digital environment enabling the creation, processing and exchange of information created by information systems and services and electronic communication networks1) b) Critical information infrastructure means an element or system of elements of the critical infrastructure in the sector of communication and information systems2) within the field of cyber security c) Security of information means ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information d) Important information system means an information system operated by a public authority that execute public powers that is neither a critical information infrastructure nor an information system of essential service, and which may endanger or noticeably limit the execution of public powers in the case of an information security breach
