Succeeds the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity adopted on 28 October 2010
Aims to tachieve a seamlessly and comprehensively connected and integrated ASEAN that will promote competitiveness, inclusiveness, and a greater sense of Community
Focuses on five strategic areas:
- Sustainable Infrastructure: to help investors seize opportunities in sustainable infrastructure by improving project preparations, enhancing infrastructure productivity and supporting cities in adopting sustainable practices
- Digital Innovation: to establish regulatory frameworks for the delivery of new digital services; to support sharing of best practices on open data; and to equip micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the capabilities to access new technologies
- Seamless Logistics: to support improving logistics competitiveness by identifying and addressing key bottlenecks on important trade routes in ASEAN
- Regulatory Excellence: to focus on standards harmonisation, mutual recognition and technical regulations, as well as trade-distorting non-tariff measures in order to achieve regulatory excellence
- People Mobility: to provide comprehensive information on travel options and simplifying visa application processes; and to develop high-quality qualification frameworks in critical vocational occupation
