- Specialized organization responsible for preventing, analyzing, identifying and reacting to cyber-incidents;
- Responsible for elaborating and distributing public policies for prevention and counteracting incidents that occur within national cyber infrastructures.
- Under national law 362/2018 transposing the EU NIS directive, new functions:
- National NIS authority

- Handles the technical and organizational aspects of incidents through: incident triage, incident coordination, incident resolution, proactive activities;
- Currently building the National Cybersecurity Services Platform, a technical platform to increase CERT-RO’s technical capabilities related to cybersecurity incident management and information sharing at the national and EU level.
