- Envisaged by Prime Ministerial Decree of 17 February 2017;
- Established within the High Institute for ICT of the Minister of Economic Development;
- Conducts technological screening of ICT products and services that fall into specific categories and are intended for use by assets included in the Law 133/2019, by performing preliminary assessments, imposing conditions and requiring hardware or software testing;
- Prepares and adopts national cybersecurity certification schemes in accordance with European and international standards;
- Verifies the existence of vulnerabilities which can compromise the integrity and security of 5G networks and of related data;
- Presidential Decree no 54 of February 5, 2021 defined the procedures, methods and terms of operation of the CVCN.
