Final appreciation to Japan for the contribution of USD 100,000.00 to the ASEAN-Japan ICT Fund this year. 14. The Ministers valued the importance of the ASEAN-Japan cooperation of Cybersecurity and welcomed the launch of the Step1 of “The ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Cooperation Hub” which covers CYDER exercise, Cyber SEA Game and feasibility study of a physical hub. The Ministers also commended the progress made in the implementation of the "ASEAN-Japan Collaboration Framework on Information Security", including the release of the ASEAN-Japan Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Guidelines. 15. The Ministers acknowledged the Republic of Korea for having successfully implemented a series of cooperative activities in 2016 among others; expansion of new technology and services, capacity building and knowledge sharing, ICT infrastructure enhancement, as well as cooperation with international organisations on AP-IS broadband development, women empowerment through ICT, and development of mobile applications. 16. The Ministers welcomed the plan to introduce an ASEAN-Korea ICT partnership 2017-2021, focusing on four strategic areas such as innovation, connectivity enhancement, human resource development and information security in line with the strategic thrusts of AIM2020. The Ministers endorsed the 2017 ASEAN-Korea ICT Work Plan which includes cooperation projects in new areas such as IoT, big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the aim of developing and promoting new technologies to proactively respond to the next industrial revolution. 17. The Ministers welcomed the endorsement of the 2017 ASEAN-EU ICT Work during the 9th TELSOM+EU meeting, to further extend cooperation on sectors of mutual interest that are targeted in both the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2020 and the EU Digital Single Market initiative. The Ministers further welcomed the Enhanced Regional EUASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI) starting early 2017 that will support cooperation including in ICT. 18. The Ministers noted the convening of the 2nd TELSOM+U.S. meeting and appreciated the United States' assistance in the successful conclusion of ICT-related activities on spectrum management, cybersecurity, and e-commerce and telecommunications commitments in high standards trade agreements. 19. The Ministers also welcomed the 2017 ASEAN-US ICT Work Plan presented by the United States during its consultation with Senior Officials for cooperation and capacity building on digital economy-related policy areas, including competition policy in the digital age and emerging technologies and innovation-minded policymaking, and look forward to the successful completion of ongoing work on dynamic spectrum allocation and broadband communications for emergency services. 20. The Ministers also noted the convening of the 6th TELSOM+ITU meeting and expressed their appreciation to ITU for its continuing assistance in advancing the development of the ICT sector in ASEAN including the promotion of child online protection in ASEAN and for its direct country actions on different areas to individual AMSs. 3
