The competent Europol authorities may collect and record in the
Europol Data System information that needs to be supplied to the
Europol Information System.
(4)
The police have the right to utilize data from the Europol Data System
for a purpose other than one equivalent to data collection and
recording if the information is necessary:
1) for ensuring State security;
2) for countering an immediate danger threatening life or health or for
preventing significant damage to property;
3) for preventing or investigating an offence subject to imprisonment.
Section 31
National Schengen Information System
(1)
The National Schengen Information System is a permanent,
computerized personal data file intended for nationwide use by the
police.
(2)
The following may constitute a sub-file of the National Schengen
Information System:
1) the national section of the Schengen Information System; and
2) the Schengen Record File.
(3)
Provisions on the purpose of use and information content of the
national section of the Schengen Information System are laid down in
Articles 92-100 of the Schengen Convention.
(4)
The competent Schengen authorities may collect and record in the
Schengen Record File information that needs to be supplied to the
Schengen Information System for purposes laid down in Articles 95100 of the Schengen Convention.
