[Original: English]
[15 April 2016]
The main priority for Albania in the field of security and protection for
classified information is the signing of the agreement between the Government of
the Republic of Albania and the European Union — the agreement on the security
procedures for the exchange and protection of classified information. The above mentioned agreement was signed on 3 March 2016 in Tirana, and it is expected to
be ratified in due time by the Assembly of the Republic of Albania.
In the context of initiating and implementing the appropriate measures in
Albania, in order to strengthen information security and to promote international
cooperation in this matter, a revision of the legal statutes was undertaken.
