A/74/120 I. Introduction 1. At its seventy-third session, the General Assembly adopted two resolutions under agenda item 96 on developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security. 2. On 5 December 2018, the General Assembly adopted resolution 73/27 on developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security and on 22 December, it adopted resolution 73/266 on advancing responsible State behaviour in cyberspace in the context of international security. 3. In paragraph 4 of resolution 73/27, the General Assembly invited all Member States, taking into account the as sessments and recommendations contained in the reports of the Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security, to continue to inform the Secretary-General of their views and assessments on the following questions: (a) General appreciation of the issues of information security; (b) Efforts taken at the national level to strengthen information security and promote international cooperation in this field; (c) The content of the concepts mentioned in paragraph 3 of the resolution; (d) Possible measures that could be taken by the international community to strengthen information security at the global level. 4. In paragraph 2 of resolution 73/266, the General Assembly invited all Member States, taking into account the assessments and recommendations contained in the reports of the Group of Governmental Experts, to continue to inform the Secretary General of their views and assessments on the following questions: (a) Efforts taken at the national level to strengthen information security and promote international cooperation in this field; (b) The content of the concepts mentioned in the reports of the Group of Governmental Experts. 5. Pursuant to that request, on 6 February 2019, a note verbale was sent to all Member States inviting them to provide information on the subject. The replies received at the time of reporting are contained in section II.
