The police have strengthened their competence and capacity to prevent and combat cyber crime. The police are able to protect society and prevent, detect, investigate and prosecute crime. This task is the same in cyberspace as in the physical world. The rapidly advancing technological development creates significant challenges for combating cyber crime. The police are faced with new demands in their work due to the current threats, e.g. regarding access to new technology, need for specialist skills and collaboration with other actors. 2. Society trusts the ability of the police to prevent and combat cyber crime. It is essential that the population trusts that all types of crime is handled responsibly and effectively.
