1.9 SUMMARY OF INITIATIVES IN THE ICT ENVIRONMENT The Figure 10 below summaries the various initiatives being pursued by SVG and the region around four quadrants, namely: • • • • Effective Regulatory Services Well Trained Human Resources E-government Initiatives Business Development It is clear that there are a lot of ICT initiatives being pursued across SVG. This current suite of initiatives, once managed well, will create a formidable strategic thrust and become a significant enabler of development and enhanced competitiveness for the country. The successful implementation of these current and proposed initiatives is critical both in defining the re- launching point, and in guiding the pathway and pace of the re-launch. However, it is important to assess the resources available within SVG to support these initiatives and to identify any critical gaps that must be addressed.
