National defence policy is implemented through multi-tasking efforts in the management of resources and national infrastructure in order to overcome various forms of threats. This policy assists in developing Indonesia’s national defence in line with its vision and mission, namely: “Achieving of Indonesia to be sovereign and independent nation and has a strong character based on mutual cooperation”. The vision and mission are actualized into seven missions : Achieving national security which is able to maintain territorial sovereignty, sustain economic independence by securing maritime resources, and reflect the character of Indonesia as an archipelagic country.
