8 1 (9) FEDERAL ENTITY.—The term ‘‘Federal en- 2 tity’’ means a department or agency of the United 3 States or any component of such department or 4 agency. 5 6 (10) INFORMATION SYSTEM.—The term ‘‘infor- mation system’’— 7 (A) has the meaning given the term in sec- 8 tion 3502 of title 44, United States Code; and 9 (B) includes industrial control systems, 10 such as supervisory control and data acquisition 11 systems, distributed control systems, and pro- 12 grammable logic controllers. 13 (11) LOCAL GOVERNMENT.—The term ‘‘local 14 government’’ means any borough, city, county, par- 15 ish, town, township, village, or other political sub- 16 division of a State. 17 (12) MALICIOUS CYBER COMMAND AND CON- 18 TROL.—The 19 control’’ means a method for unauthorized remote 20 identification of, access to, or use of, an information 21 system or information that is stored on, processed 22 by, or transiting an information system. 23 term ‘‘malicious cyber command and (13) MALICIOUS RECONNAISSANCE.—The term 24 ‘‘malicious reconnaissance’’ means a method for ac- 25 tively probing or passively monitoring an information † S 754 ES
