The strategic intent of the government is to enable affordable
access
to
global
information
to
all
its
citizens
including
disadvantaged persons.
•
The strategy will seek to pursue a sustainable process of action and
review which is based on the synergistic development of:
•
Education and training to develop human resources in the
necessary ICT and business skills;
•
Use of ICT to expand the horizons and capacity of existing
businesses and recruit new business to Grenada;
•
Deepening the use of ICT in governance to increase its efficiency
and transparency in particular in support of 1 and 2 above;
•
The implementation of a focused promotional strategy, directed at
the business and government sectors and civil society
Underlying Principles
The following Principles underpin the strategy that the Government will
pursue in the achievement of this Mission:
•
All Grenadians will have the opportunity and the means to
participate in the Information Society and the Information Economy
irrespective of their financial, social or educational circumstances.
•
The Government will actively promote the creation of the
Information Society and the Information Economy via the provision
of transactional on-line e-Government Services.
•
The Government will provide the necessary policy, institutional and
regulatory framework that is required for the successful proliferation
of electronic commerce.
•
Businesses will be encouraged to adopt electronic commerce.
