PART 1
PRELIMINARY
Court means the Supreme Court of Vanuatu;
data means any representation of facts, concepts or information in a form suitable
for processing in a computer system, including a program suitable to cause a
computer system to perform a function;
data storage medium means anything that contains or designed to contain data
for use by a computer system;
device means any hardware or equipment which performs one or more specific
fonctions and operates on any form or combination of electrical energy and
includes but is not limited to:
(a)
(b)
components of computer systems such as compiters, graphic cards, mobile
phones or memory chips; or
storage components such as hard drives, memory cards, compact discs or
tapes; or
(c)
input devices such as keyboards, mouses, track pads, scanners or digital
cameras; or
(d) _ output devices such as printers or screens;
foreign country has the same meaning as in the Mutual Assistance in Criminal
Matters Act [CAP 285]:
foreign serious offence has the same meaning as in the Proceeds of Crime Act
[CAP 284];
information means information, whether in the form of data, text, sounds, images
or in any other form;
intelligible output means information from a computer system in whatever form
that is able to be read and understood;
interception means the monitoring or recording of non-public transmissions of
data to, from or within a computer system;
interception device has the same meaning as in the Police Powers Act No. 37 of
2017;
interception warrant means a warrant granted under section 30;
