“Injury” or “hurt” means any harm whatsoever caused to
any person, in body, mind, reputation, or property;
“Insurgent, bandit, saboteur or terrorist” means a person
who—
(a) is about to commit, is committing or has committed
an act of insurgency, banditry, sabotage or terrorism;
or
(b) has attended a course or undergone training, is
about to attend a course or undergo training or is
attending a course or undergoing training
referred to in section 69(1) of this Act;
“Judicial proceedings” means any proceeding in the
course of which it is lawful to take evidence under oath;
“Probable” means to have a certain consequence or to
cause a certain effect if the occurrence of that consequence
or effect would not be unexpected;
“Likely” means that an act is said to be “likely” to have a
certain consequence or to cause a certain effect if the
occurrence of that consequence or effect would cause no
surprise to a reasonable man;
“Minister” means the Minister concerned in the Government;
“Movable property” means any property of every
description except immovable property such as land and
things attached to the earth or permanently fastened to
anything which is attached to the earth;
“Note” means every currency note issued by or under the
authority of any government and intended to be used as
equivalent to or as a substitute for money and any banknote
which is legally a currency in any country;
“Oath” means any declaration required or authorised by
law; or tradition to be used for the purpose of proof,
whether in a Court or otherwise;
“Offence” means a violation of the law, and includes an
offence under any law for the time being in force;
