and observers. The Pacific Chapter of the Internet Society suggested that our process for the development of this Policy “offer a model of practice that will be very
helpful to other Pacific nations who may wish to redevelop their own ICT policies”.
A submission from an international stakeholder, received through the Call-forPublic-Input process, went even further by stating that “Vanuatu is poised to take
the region by storm in setting an example for the Pacific in accelerating ICT. It has
all the relevant ingredients to succeed. There is political will, commitment, energy
and drive to ensure the vision of a vibrant nation will emerge.” We all should take
this praise as a push to do even more.
I am calling on all stakeholders to embrace this Policy, which is a result of
our joint efforts to date, and work together to develop our country and harness the
power of ICTs in these efforts.
