CAP. 10.06 Section 1 Computer Crimes Act C T COMPUTER CRIMES ACT AN ACT TO COMBAT COMPUTER CRIME AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE COLLECTION AND USE OF ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE1 Commencement [8th September, 2003]2 PART I - PRELIMINARY 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Computer Crimes Act. 2 Interpretation In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires — “computer” means an electronic, magnetic, optical, electrochemical, or other data processing device, or a group of such interconnected or related devices, performing logical, arithmetic, or storage functions, and includes any data storage facility or communications facility directly related to or operating in conjunction with such device or group of such interconnected or related devices, but does not include — (a) an automated typewriter or typesetter; (b) a portable hand held calculator; or (c) a similar device which is non-programmable or which does not contain any data storage facility; to 2016 Revised Edition Page 5
