- Established under the Government of Japan’s Cabinet; chairmanship and membership:
- Chaired by Chief Cabinet Secretary; co-Chaired by Minister in charge of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Membership includes several Ministers and 7 experts
- Structure includes 4 panels/committies:
- CI expert panel
- Technological strategy expert panel
- Human resources expert panel for dissemination and enlightenment
- Cybersecurity measures promotion committee
- Cooperates with IT Strategic Headquarters and National Security Council (NSC) of Japan, as well as with other ministries and public agencies
- Key functions include:
- Promoting consistent and exhaustive implementation of information security measures across agencies
- Facilitating organised and converged coordination among relevant governmental bodies and entities on the issues of information security/cybersecurity
