20. The Commission reiterated that justice and home affairs remains one of the
cornerstones of the bilateral cooperation between Portugal and the United
States. The Commission praised progress in this area since the last SBC
meeting and welcomed the expanding dialogue on cyber cooperation,
including exchanges on furthering a framework for international stability in
cyberspace; bolstering cyber security; fighting cybercrime; and fostering
cyber security awareness and capacity building. The sixth meeting of the
Justice and Home Affairs Committee will be held on December 16th 2016.
The Commission also noted ongoing discussions on a draft bilateral Asset
Sharing Agreement and expressed a desire to conclude it as soon as
possible.
21. The Commission agreed to hold its next meeting in May 2017 in the United
States.
