 • The Federal Government continues to plan the transition of vulnerable public networks and systems to quantum-resistant cryptography, consistent with NSM-10 on Promoting United States Leadership in Quantum Computing While Mitigating Risks to Vulnerable Cryptographic Systems. In 2023, Federal departments and agencies undertook the first inventory of Federal cryptographic systems which may contain vulnerable encryption algorithms and developed cost estimates for quantum-resistant cryptography migration. These inventories and cost estimates will inform future planning for migration activities. NCSIP Version 2 builds on the successes of 2023 and creates a blueprint for resource alignment. ONCD is committed to maintaining the transparency of the implementation process and ensuring Federal coherence, and the NCSIP will continue to be updated annually to reflect work completed and identify measures required to meet the new demands of the dynamic cyber threat landscape. 2024 REPORT ON THE CYBERSECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES POSTURE 29
